Farmers & Merchants Bank (F&M Bank) celebrated the 100th birthday of Bernadette Graves, a valued client for over 70 years.

F&M’s Bixby Knolls office, at 4545 California Avenue in Long Beach, played host to Mrs. Graves’ 100th birthday celebration on Tuesday afternoon. F&M employees, Executives and family of Mrs. Graves all attended the festivities. Bernadette was celebrated with a cake, balloons, a special letter of thanks from F&M Executives and a “Happy Birthday” song from the crowd.

Julie Shields, daughter of Bernadette Graves, expressed her gratitude saying “Our friends can’t believe that a “bank” would do something for mom’s birthday.”

F&M President, W. Henry Walker said “Clients like Bernadette are the reason we get up in the morning and come here to work.”

“I felt so honored to be recognized by the Bank and its employees. They’re like family to me. I’ve had the most wonderful service and care from Farmers and Merchants Bank that anyone could ever receive.” said Bernadette.

Bernadette has lived in Long Beach since the early 1930s where she graduated from St. Anthony High School. She worked as an administrator at Magnolia Hospital in Long Beach. She and her late husband Manuel Graves have been clients at Farmers & Merchants Bank since 1944.
