• 1. What is One-Time PIN?
    F&M One-Time PIN is a unique, single-use 6-digit code which protects against fraud by safeguarding your online transactions and sensitive information. One-Time PIN is another level of authentication in addition to your Login ID and password, providing you stronger online security.
  • 2. How will my One-Time PIN be sent to me?
    You choose how you want to receive your One-Time PIN: by text, email, or phone. F&M Bank needs your current contact information for you to receive your One-Time PIN.
  • 3. How does One-Time PIN work?
    Each time you log in from a computer or device that is not recognized by the bank, you will be sent a newly generated One-Time PIN. Once you receive the One-Time PIN, you have ten minutes to enter the 6 digits in the space provided. Select "Confirm."
  • 4. Do I have to enter a One-Time PIN every time I log in or conduct an online transaction?
    No, once you have setup One-Time PIN, you have the option to register your computer or device. Once your computer or device is registered, you will skip the One-Time PIN requirement when you log in again. To register your computer or device, click the box next to "Please recognize this computer when I login."
  • 5. How does One-Time PIN affect business clients?
    Business clients will be required to setup One-Time PIN in the same way as consumer clients and use it each time a computer or device is not recognized. In addition, business clients may be prompted to use One-Time PIN for specific transactions like Wire Transfers and ACH Transactions.
  • 6. Why is there a need for One-Time PIN
    Fraudulent activity is on the rise, and F&M One-Time PIN combined with your Login ID and password assists in protecting you from this increased threat.
  • 7. Will my Login ID and/or password change?
    No, you will still use your current Login ID and password.
  • When will I need to use One-Time PIN?
    You will be prompted for a One-Time PIN each time you log in from a computer or device that is not recognized.
  • 9. How do I update my contact information?
    You can update your contact information in Online Banking. Log in and select the Other Services tab to view and edit your contact information including mobile phone number and email address. Or you can call us at (866) 437-0011 M-F: 7am-9pm, Sat 8am-9pm, and Sun 8am-5pm PT.
  • 10. How long does it take to receive a One-Time PIN?
    The One-Time PIN is sent instantly by the method of your choice and is valid for only ten minutes. After ten minutes, the One-Time PIN will expire, and you will need to generate a new One-Time PIN. The time limit is part of the security features of One-Time PIN.
  • 11. What if I don't receive my One-Time PIN?
    If you don't receive your One-Time PIN, please call us at (866) 437-0011 M-F: 7am-9pm, Sat 8am-9pm, and Sun 8am-5pm PT.
  • 12. What happens if I enter the One-Time PIN incorrectly?
    You can attempt entering the One-Time PIN again, however you may be locked out of Online Banking if you unsuccessfully attempt three times. You can also request another One-Time PIN by clicking "Send OTP" again. Please call us for assistance or to unlock your Online Banking at (866) 437-0011 M-F: 7am-9pm, Sat 8am-9pm, and Sun 8am-5pm PT.
  • 13. Can I register more than one mobile phone number?
    No, only one mobile phone number can be registered. The One-Time PIN will be sent to the mobile phone number you have provided us in your profile. To update your contact information, log into Online Banking and select the Other Services tab or call us at (866) 437-0011 M-F: 7am-9pm, Sat 8am-9pm, and Sun 8am-5pm PT.
  • 14. Can I use the same One-Time PIN multiple times?
    No, One-Time PINs are for single-use only. A new 6-digit code is generated each time and is valid only once for ten minutes.
  • 15. Is the log in process going to change to access Online Banking?
    You will log into Online Banking the same way, using your Login ID and password. You will no longer need to answer security questions; however, you will be prompted to setup One-Time PIN.
  • 16. Do I have to enroll in One-Time PIN?
    Yes, the One-Time PIN requirement is mandatory to protect all of our clients' online security starting on June 30, 2016.
  • 17. Is there a fee to use One-Time PIN?
    No, F&M does not charge for One-Time PIN, however, your wireless carrier may charge you fees related to this service.
