1. 1. What is a Secure Access Code (SAC)?
    An F&M Secure Access Code (SAC) is a unique, single-use 5-digit code which protects against fraud by safeguarding your online transactions and sensitive information. A SAC is another level of authentication in addition to your Login ID and password, providing you stronger online security.
  2. 2. How will my SAC be sent to me?
    You choose how you want to receive your SAC: by text, email, or phone. F&M Bank needs your current contact information for you to receive your SAC.
  3. 3. How do SACs work?
    Each time you log in from a computer or device that is not recognized by the bank, you will be sent a newly generated SAC. Once you receive the SAC, you have ten minutes to enter the 5 digits in the space provided. Select "Confirm."
  4. 4. Do I have to enter a SAC every time I log in or conduct an online transaction?
    No, once you have setup a SAC, you have the option to register your computer or device. Once your computer or device is registered, you will skip the SAC requirement when you log in again. To register your computer or device, click, "Register Device."
  5. 5. How do SACs affect business clients?
    Business clients will be required to setup a SAC in the same way as consumer clients and use it each time a computer or device is not recognized. In addition, business clients may be prompted to use SACs for specific transactions like Wire Transfers and ACH Transactions.
  6. 6. Why is there a need for a SAC?
    Fraudulent activity is on the rise, and F&M SACs combined with your Login ID and password assists in protecting you from this increased threat.
  7. 7. Will my Login ID and/or password change?
    No, you will still use your current Login ID and password.
  8. When will I need to use my SAC?
    You will be prompted for a SAC each time you log in from a computer or device that is not recognized.
  9. 9. How do I update my contact information?
    You can update your contact information in Online Banking. Log in and select the Services tab to view and edit your contact information including mobile phone number and email address. Or you can call us at (866) 437-0011 M-F: 7am-9pm, Sat 8am-9pm, and Sun 8am-5pm PT.
  10. 10. How long does it take to receive a SAC?
    The SAC is sent instantly by the method of your choice and is valid for only ten minutes. After ten minutes, the SAC will expire, and you will need to generate a new SAC. The time limit is part of the security features of SACs.
  11. 11. What if I don't receive my SAC?
    If you don't receive your SAC, please call us at (866) 437-0011 M-F: 7am-9pm, Sat 8am-9pm, and Sun 8am-5pm PT.
  12. 12. What happens if I enter the SAC incorrectly?
    You can attempt entering the SAC again, however you may be locked out of Online Banking if you unsuccessfully attempt three times. Please call us for assistance or to unlock your Online Banking at (866) 437-0011 M-F: 7am-9pm, Sat 8am-9pm, and Sun 8am-5pm PT.
  13. 13. Can I register more than one mobile phone number?
    No, only one mobile phone number can be registered. The SAC will be sent to the mobile phone number you have provided us in your profile. To update your contact information, call us at (866) 437-0011 M-F: 7am-9pm, Sat 8am-9pm, and Sun 8am-5pm PT.
  14. 14. Can I use the same SAC multiple times?
    No, SACs are for single-use only. A new 5-digit code is generated each time and is valid only once for ten minutes.
  15. 15. Is the log in process going to change to access Online Banking?
    You will log into Online Banking the same way, using your Login ID and password. You will no longer need to answer security questions; however, you will be prompted to setup a SAC.
  16. 16. Do I have to enroll in SAC?
    Yes, the SAC requirement is mandatory to protect all of our clients' online security.
  17. 17. Is there a fee to use a SAC?
    No, F&M does not charge for a SAC, however, your wireless carrier may charge you fees related to this service.
