"With a caring heart, irrepressible creativity and an unyielding commitment to service, Dora is a powerful advocate for a group of children whose well-being and long-term vitality depends on it."
Early childhood is the most critical of times. The realities young children face in this period play a direct role in deciding the trajectory of the rest of their life. For more than 25 years, Dora Jacildo has worked to provide crucial care and resources to some of the most vulnerable within this population.
Dora is the Executive Director of Comprehensive Child Development, Inc., a Long Beach based nonprofit child development organization that serves low-income and homeless children in Long Beach, Wilmington and San Pedro. And Dora’s passion has not only touched the children in Long Beach and Harbor communities, as she has played an instrumental role in the opening of hundreds of child care programs all across Los Angeles County.
Dora’s impact on young children can be traced to the very beginning of her career. Starting out as a preschool teacher, she later transitioned to Connections for Children, where she helped hundreds of child care providers start their own businesses and was instrumental in improving access to quality child care programs in Los Angeles County. She also helped develop the pilot for KCET programs “A Place of our Own” and “Los Ninos En Su Casa,” while actively participating in drafting the initial quality standards for Los Angeles Universal Preschool.
With a caring heart, irrepressible creativity and an unyielding commitment to service, Dora is a powerful advocate for a group of children whose well-being and long-term vitality depends on it.
Farmers and Merchants Bank has been proudly doing business with Dora Jacildo for 2 years.
